This large plate looks like a fantastic flower with 6 petals. Each petal is composed of various red circles with intricate blue pattern inside. The pattern is not constant and gradually changes from the simplest in the center of the petals to a very complicated at the edges. This flower is floating in a vessel with water, and the shape of this vessel is also very unusual. It's a circle with curved edges. The colors depend on the surrounding light. To make this plate I used hundreds of murrine I've pulled earlier. Murrine are small glass cylinders with an intricate internal structure. Some of them look like tiny flowers, some - like concentric circles, and some - like a combination of blue chevrons surrounded by orange circles. The surface of the plate is matte to minimize glare. This plate is one of a kind. It is food safe, but we do not recommend using a microwave and dishwasher due to the nature of the fused glass.
