For many of us glass fusing is a hobby and we can dedicate time for it only at weekends. So, it would be great to have instructions which allow to complete a relatively complex project in 2-3 days. In this book I tried to provide day-by-day instructions for four different projects which use one common element: stringers. We often underestimate the power of stringers and do not use them. Meanwhile stringers is an impressive artistic element and this book proofs that.
All these projects require some basic (and sometimes advanced) glass working skills, but if you don't have them now, you can learn from the book how to make glass combing, drill holes in glass, and so on.

All the projects described in the book require different techniques for implementation:

- A rectangular plate "Next generation" requires "3D-chevrons" technique. A new simplified method is described in details only in this book and significantly less labor intensive compared to the original one provided in the previous my book "From scrap to artworks with a vitrigraph"

- A beautiful vase "Tartan napkin" looks like a real fabric napkin vase. This "fabric" is also made of stringers

- A rectangular plate "Bubbled Mondrian" has several new decorative elements which make an illusion of something lightweight and festive. All this decorative elements require stringers for implementation, but instead of stringers you see finally either bubbles or micro "stained glass windows".

- A wall clock "Red Planet" is made using a glass combing technique. Using stringers during combing makes the resultant pattern fine and intricate.

There are 73 pages, more than 60 pictures and illustrations.

This is my 5th book I have purchased and this guy is amazing with how much he knows and how he relays it. I told my husband he needs to be teaching at a college! Book is easy to use and he gives u the whys and hows for everything he does. The first book to get would be the art of glass fusing! Excellent book! Especially if ur wanting to create glass and not wanting to just hope it turns out but to know. I will at some point read all of his book! Highly recommend!

The projects are nicely explained. I do think getting them done in a weekend is a bit too ambitious for me, and some of the projects are not for beginners. Overall, though, these are within the ability of most fusers.

Very informative book and explains projects well. It’s definitely for someone with advanced knowledge of fusing. I plan on taking time this winter to study it and learn.
